    • Make sure that long hair is tied back and any dangling strings are tucked in or out of the way to avoid getting them caught in the moving parts of the machinery.

    • The end of the gun is pointy, as are the scissors that snip between each machine stroke.

    • Be aware of the parts of the gun that could puncture or cut you and keep all body parts out of reach.

    • Make sure that there is no-one on the other side of the rug tufting frame that might try to also touch a sharp point.

    • Rug tufting involves repeated cutting of yarn, creating flying particles. The glue used in the ending process can also be a respiratory hazard.

    • Wear a mask or use a dust collection system while tufting for any amount of time over a couple of minutes.
