Caution: Hot surfaces. The outer skin of a kiln will typically reach between 300˚F and 750˚F. The kiln will get hot enough to burn your skin when the kiln is heated. Always check kiln surfaces before touching. Remove all potentially combustible items from within 18" of the kiln including the top surface.

Always be careful when opening the kiln door when the kiln is heated. Never wear loose-fitting clothing around a hot kiln.Always pull your hair back.Note the location of the nearest fire extinguisher.

Caution: Vented gasses. Be aware of your material (Wax, investment, enamels, colored glass, metals) and any compounds they may offgas under high heat. Check the MSDS for your materials.

Caution: Poison hazard. Certain materials will offgas dangerous fumes. DO NOT HEAT bronze, brass, galvanized steel, and plastics.

Make sure the temperature knob on the right side of the kiln is pointing to 100%.

Turn the key on the kiln controller 90° clockwise.

Wait 1-1.5 minutes for the controller to boot.

Using the tablet, press the power button on the right side to turn it on. Then swipe up on the screen to unlock.

This will bring you to the browser page for the kiln controller.

Refresh the browser window. Sensor Temp should be reading room temperature.

Set the kiln schedule from the drop-down menu. (If your needed kiln schedule isn't listed, please see Appendix: I - Creating a kiln schedule.)

Turn on the exhaust fan to high for the fume extractor.

Click Start.

Verify your setting on the Task Overview.

Click "Yes, start the Run"

The red light should turn on. The Sensor Temp should start rising to meet the Target Temp. After which the Timer will start counting down and the Light will start blinking to denote it is maintaining the Target Temp.

When the kiln schedule reaches it's end, the kiln will shut off.

If the schedule is open ended or includes a maintenance temperature, Click Stop. A popup will state "Run Completed." Close the popup.

Make sure the kiln is cleared of any or your items.

Open the door to the kiln. Wait for the kiln Sensor Temp to drop under 350°F before leaving it unattended. DO NOT leave the area.

Close the kiln door.

Turn off the fume extractor fan.
